These Lentil Walnut Burgers are the perfect plant-based alternative to traditional burgers. Made with wholesome lentils, crunchy walnuts, aromatic herbs, and savory spices, they deliver a crispy exterior, a tender center, and rich, satisfying flavor in every bite.

For the Burger Patties


* 2 cups cooked brown lentils, drained

* 1 cup walnuts, finely chopped

* ½ cup rolled oats or breadcrumbs

* 1 small onion, finely diced

* 2 garlic cloves, minced

* 1 tbsp soy sauce

* 1 tbsp tomato paste

* 1 tsp smoked paprika

* 1 tsp cumin

* ½ tsp oregano

* Salt and black pepper to taste

* 1 tbsp olive oil (for cooking)

* Red onion slices

2. Shape the mixture into 4–6 burger patties and chill for 20 minutes to help them hold together.

3. Cook in a lightly oiled skillet over medium heat for 4–5 minutes per side, or bake at 200°C (400°F) for 25 minutes, flipping halfway through.

4. Toast the burger buns, layer with lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, and the warm lentil walnut patty. Finish with your favorite sauce and serve immediately.
