For the Base


* 500 g (1 lb) ground beef (or plant-based mince)

* 1 medium onion, finely diced

* 2 tbsp tomato paste

* 2 cups beef or vegetable broth

* 1 tsp dried oregano

* 1 tsp dried basil

* ½ tsp black pepper

For the Pasta


* 250 g (9 oz) dry lasagna sheets, broken into medium-sized pieces


For the Cheese


* 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

* 1 cup ricotta cheese

* ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese


For Garnish


* Fresh basil leaves

* Freshly cracked black pepper



👨‍🍳 Instructions


1️⃣ Build the Flavor Base


Heat olive oil in a large deep skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat.


Add the onion and cook for 3 minutes until softened.
