🥟 GOLDEN HOMEMADE EMPANADAS — 6 DELICIOUS IDEAS


Crispy outside, juicy inside, cheesy, golden, and perfect for sharing! These homemade empanadas are great for family dinners, snacks, parties, or weekend cravings. 😍


INGREDIENTS FOR THE DOUGH:

• 4 cups all-purpose flour

• 1 tsp salt

• 1 tbsp sugar

• 1/2 cup butter or shortening

• 1 egg

• 3/4 cup warm water, more if needed

• 1 egg, beaten, for brushing


INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE DOUGH:

1. In a large bowl, mix flour, salt, and sugar.

2. Add butter and mix until crumbly.

3. Add the egg and warm water little by little.

4. Knead until smooth, then cover and rest for 30 minutes.

5. Roll out the dough and cut into circles.

6. Fill, fold, seal the edges with a fork, and brush with beaten egg.

7. Bake at 375°F / 190°C for 22–28 minutes, or fry until golden and crispy.

INGREDIENTS:

• 1 lb ground beef

• 1/2 onion, chopped

• 1/2 bell pepper, chopped

• 2 garlic cloves, minced

• 2 tbsp tomato sauce

• 1 tsp oregano

• 1/2 tsp paprika

• Salt and pepper to taste

• Chopped parsley or cilantro


INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Cook the onion, bell pepper, and garlic until soft.

2. Add the ground beef and cook until browned.

3. Add tomato sauce, oregano, paprika, salt, and pepper.

4. Cook until the filling is juicy but not too wet.

5. Let cool, fill the empanadas, seal, and bake or fry until golden.

INGREDIENTS:

• 2 cups cooked shredded chicken

• 1/2 cup cream cheese or creamy sauce

• 1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar

• 1/2 onion, chopped

• 1 garlic clove, minced

• Salt, pepper, and oregano to taste


INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Sauté onion and garlic until fragrant.

2. Add shredded chicken, cream cheese, salt, pepper, and oregano.

• 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Spread a little pizza sauce in the center of each dough circle.
