This Cajun Chicken Pasta Delight is a restaurant-quality meal made right at home! Juicy Cajun-seasoned chicken is served over tender pasta in a rich, creamy Parmesan sauce with colorful bell peppers and garlic. It's bold, comforting, and ready in about 30 minutes!
🛒 Ingredients
For the Chicken
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, sliced or pounded to an even thickness
2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons olive oil
For the Pasta
12 ounces fettuccine or penne pasta
1 tablespoon butter
1 red bell pepper, sliced
1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
1 small onion, sliced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1½ cups heavy cream
1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
½ cup chicken broth
1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning (or more to taste)
Salt and black pepper, to taste
For Garnish
Chopped fresh parsley
Extra grated Parmesan
Crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
👩🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Cook the Pasta
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
Cook the pasta according to the package directions until al dente. Reserve ½ cup of the pasta water, then drain.
2️⃣ Season and Cook the Chicken
Mix the Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
Rub the seasoning over both sides of the chicken.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the chicken for 5–6 minutes per side, or until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
Transfer to a plate and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
3️⃣ Make the Sauce
In the same skillet, melt the butter.
Add the onion and bell peppers and cook for 4–5 minutes until softened.
Stir in the garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
Pour in the chicken broth and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
Add the heavy cream and Cajun seasoning. Simmer for 2–3 minutes.
Whisk in the Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
If needed, add a splash of the reserved pasta water to thin the sauce.
4️⃣ Combine
Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss until evenly coated.
Top with the sliced Cajun chicken.
5️⃣ Serve
Garnish with fresh parsley, extra Parmesan, and crushed red pepper flakes if desired.
Serve immediate
