RIPE PLANTAIN LASAGNA RECIPE IDEAS 🍌🧀🔥


 

Sweet ripe plantains, creamy fillings, juicy proteins, and lots of melted cheese… these Caribbean-style plantain lasagnas are pure comfort food! 


GROUND BEEF RIPE PLANTAIN LASAGNA 


Ingredients: 


4 ripe plantains, sliced lengthwise and fried or baked

1 lb ground beef⁹

1 cup tomato sauce

1 small onion, chopped

2 garlic cloves, minced

1 tsp oregano

Salt and pepper to taste

2 cups shredded mozzarella

1/2 cup parmesan cheese

1 cup creamy white sauce or bechamel 


Instructions:

Cook the ground beef with onion, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper. Add tomato sauce and simmer until thick. In a baking dish, layer ripe plantains, beef sauce, white sauce, and mozzarella. Repeat the layers and finish with mozzarella and parmesan. Bake at 375°F for 20–25 minutes, until golden and bubbly. 


CHICKEN AND CHEESE RIPE PLANTAIN LASAGNA 


Ingredients: 


4 ripe plantains, sliced and cooked

2 cups shredded seasoned chicken

1 cup creamy sauce

2 cups mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup cream cheese

1/2 cup parmesan

Garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper to taste 


Instructions:

Mix the shredded chicken with creamy sauce, cream cheese, and seasonings. Layer cooked ripe plantains in a baking dish, then add chicken filling and mozzarella. Repeat the layers and top with mozzarella and parmesan. Bake at 375°F for 20–25 minutes. 


HAM AND CHEESE RIPE PLANTAIN LASAGNA 


Ingredients: 


4 ripe plantains, sliced and cooked

2 cups diced or sliced ham

2 cups mozzarella cheese

1 cup white sauce

1/2 cup parmesan cheese

1/2 tsp garlic powder

Parsley for garnish 


Instructions:

Place a layer of ripe plantains in a baking dish. Add ham, white sauce, and mozzarella. Repeat the layers until the dish is full. Top with mozzarella and parmesan. Bake at 375°F for 20 minutes, or until melted, creamy, and golden. 


CHICKEN AND BACON RIPE PLANTAIN LASAGNA 


Ingredients: 


4 ripe plantains, sliced and cooked

2 cups shredded chicken

1/2 cup crispy bacon, chopped

1 cup creamy sauce

2 cups mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup parmesan

Salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika to taste 


Instructions:

Mix shredded chicken with creamy sauce and seasonings. Layer plantains, chicken mixture, bacon, and mozzarella in a baking dish. Repeat and finish with mozzarella, parmesan, and extra bacon on top. Bake at 375°F for 20–25 minutes until bubbly and golden. 


SHRIMP RIPE PLANTAIN LASAGNA 


Ingredients: 


4 ripe plantains, sliced and cooked

1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 garlic cloves, minced

1 tbsp butter

1 cup creamy garlic sauce

2 cups mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup parmesan

Salt, pepper, and parsley to taste 


Instructions:

Cook shrimp in butter, garlic, salt, and pepper for 2–3 minutes. Layer ripe plantains, creamy garlic sauce, shrimp, mozzarella, and parmesan in a baking dish. Repeat the layers and bake at 375°F for 18–22 minutes, until the top is golden and melted. 


THREE CHEESE RIPE PLANTAIN LASAGNA 


Ingredients: 


4 ripe plantains, sliced and cooked

1 cup ricotta or cream cheese

2 cups mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup parmesan cheese

1 cup white sauce

1/2 tsp garlic powder

Parsley or cilantro for garnish 


Instructions:

Mix ricotta or cream cheese with garlic powder and a little white sauce. Layer ripe plantains, cheese mixture, mozzarella, and parmesan. Repeat the layers and finish with plenty of mozzarella and parmesan on top. Bake at 375°F for 20–25 minutes, until creamy, bubbly, and golden. 


These ripe plantain lasagnas are sweet, cheesy, creamy, and full of Caribbean flavor.
